The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale

In the mid 1950s Earl Nightingale managed a successful sales force. Every morning, before his team would hit the streets to make their sales calls, Mr. Nightingale would give them a pep talk. These pep talks empowered, and motivated his sales team. One day, Mr. Nightingale decided he was going to take a vacation, and informed his assistant. Mr. Nightingales assistant was distraught; without Earls morning pep talks, sales may dwindle. So, Earl bought a tape recorder, and recorded a messaged for his sales force to hear while he was on vacation.

This recording was profound. It was reproduced, and distributed commercially. In a short period of time, this recording received a Gold Record for the largest selling non – entertainment recording of the recording industry. It was the birth of a concept we know now as ‘Drive Time University‘, listening to educational material while the hands are busy but the brain is not.  This recording is still a pivotal work in Personal Development literature. Following is a video presentation of this recording performed by Earl Nightingale himself in three parts.

Whether you are a salesman, a parent, teacher, butcher, tailor, candlestick maker, a cabbage, or a king, I’m sure you will find enlightenment and knowledge in this lecture. Please enjoy.

Nightingale-Conant, a company Earl Nightingale co-founded, has been a World leader in personal development products since 1960.

Hello! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

    • 2011/10/23 at 22:32

Actually, Royal Caribbean Baltimore, I’m just using a plain Jane, off the shelf, one – size – fits – all WordPress platform. If you have hackers, your password has probably been compromised somehow. You might want to try changing your WordPress password before you go through the hassle of moving your project to another blog server. If that doesn’t work, there’s Blogger. I’ve not used Blogger, which is Goggles blog service. However, I’ve heard they are pretty good.

Very nice article and straight to the point. I don’t know if this is actually the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to hire some professional writers? Thx 🙂

    • 2012/01/05 at 22:44

Thanks Tresa! Yes I do have some thoughts on where to hire professional writers. I’m a member of the Professional Writers Alliance, and do some copywriting, but I’m not one of your $5.00 an hour type copywriters. Were you looking for some ad copy to be written, a ghost writer, guest blogger? I have a broad range of contacts, but we all treat our writing as a business … though this particular blog is a passion hobby for me, and I write very poor short stories whose only chance of getting published is on a vanity publishing site.
